There are almost 3 years since I was guided by the Mediterranean Diet in my daily food and every time I try a new recipe, I am impressed by so many flavours that I have not known before.
This is a nice replacement for a steak, for those who are vegetarian or vegan. I am not but this doesn't mean I cannot enjoy these delicious dishes.
It is super easy to make and a very healthy meal alternative.
The original recipe adds an extra salad to it that can even improve the flavour with an acidic note. I wanted to simplify it, so I adapted a bit the recipe to my taste. (the link to the original recipe you can find it at the end)
Ingredients:
- 1 cauliflower head
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- a pinch of salt
- pepper
- parsley for decoration
Sauce:
- 1 can of chickpeas
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 70g tablespoons of olive oil (or 5 tablespoons)
- the juice of one lemon
- salt
- pepper
Directions:
- Prepare the sauce by blending all the sauce ingredients.
- Cut the cauliflower into slices. You can get 2 big slices from the middle and the rest probably you'll have it in small pieces.
- Prepare the oil to brush the cauliflower by mixing the olive oil with paprika, salt and pepper. Brush the cauliflower slices and pieces on all the sides.
- Fry it in the air fryer for 8 minutes or in a non-stick pan until it gets lightly golden brown. Half time you can turn them on the other side.
- Serve it by putting the sauce on the bottom of the plate and the cauliflower on the top.
- Sprinkle parsley over for decoration.
