I was used to make ice cream by freezing smoothies. It is more simple this way but it lacks the creamy aspect. I thought making creamy ice cream is something complicated. Well with this recipe I discovered that it is not. The vanilla ice cream is in fact a classic vanilla custard that is frozen. What you get is an amazing ice cream to have in your freezer when you want a little treat for yourself.
Ingredients:
- 1 vanilla bean
- 500ml whole milk
- 6 egg yolks
- 100g sugar
- 250g milk cream
Directions:
- Remove the seeds of the vanilla bean and add them in milk.
- Bring the milk with vanilla seeds to boil.
- Put the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl and beat them until they become white.
- Add slowly the hot milk over the egg yolk and continue to mix.
- Put back this composition in the pot (the one in which the milk was boiled) over medium heat and mix continuously. Do not let this composition to boil.
- Remove it from the heat and let it cool completely.
- Pour this composition in the ice cream maker and turn it on for 25 minutes.
